Typical values, not a specification commitment. The batch analysis (COA) is binding. Some items have no general table, because water treatment and oilfield chemistry are designed for each application.
Why methods are listed here
Two data sheets can state the same figure and still describe different goods if different test methods lie behind them. A flash point by open cup regularly lies above one by closed cup. That is why the method has its own column here and is not left to the small print.
Just as important is the difference between typical values and a batch analysis. Typical values describe what a product usually delivers. Only the certificate of analysis of the delivered batch is binding, issued by the plant and, where required, confirmed by an independent inspection company.
Some standards are revised periodically. ACEA sequences appear in annual versions and API categories are updated, so the version named in the contract applies.
